Backgammon is the original game in history. Also known as the "wee war," backgammon appeared in ancient Iraq almost 5 millennia ago. For all that, Egyptians called backgammon "Senat," which is a similar form of the current game enjoyed today. Centuries ago, only people of power, the ruling figures of royalty like Egyptian queens, were permitted to play. The game started to expand worldwide since then. Many different Backgammon versions were developed in many territories and societies, but the basic codes of those versions resemble those of the antiquated form . For instance, Greece grabbed a hold of the game and coined the title "bac gamen." From there, the Anglo’s adopted backgammon in the 1600’s and have remained with it ever since. Backgammon and different antiquated games were never approved by a lot of clergy. The churches believe that the game was the tool of the Devil. This led clergy to blacklist and burn the game. The blacklisting and burning did not prevent individuals competing games and having fun.
Computers give a new arena for Backgammon.
