The Essential Basics of Backgammon Strategies – Part Two

As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces safely around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or result a bad position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. As soon as you’ve successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of your opponent, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game technique relies on alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is frequently used when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
